Our society is used to labelling “the other”. But what if you yourself are ‘the other’? Do you still have issues understanding them or does that make everything personal and understandable? In a society in which we condemn and judge each other without knowing each other “the other”, most of the times, is less and less visible.

The festival took place on 20th, 21st and 22nd & 27th, 28th and 29th of May 2016 at the rotterdamscentrumvoortheater. This event is a collaboration with Galerie Atelier Herenplaats and Theater Maatwerk. We organize a theater festival in which theater artists and groups offer their views on the theme of “the other”. All plays are made and played by both amateurs and semi- professionals with and without disabilities, students and inhabitants of Rotterdam. The festival brings makers and visitors in contact with each other and provides a mutual experience. By working together and seeing each other we move forward, that is the power and purpose of ‘I is another’ .
