
On June 8, 9 and 10, three theater companies from different countries in Europe visited Babel. For three days, the actors and caretakers of the companies, together with actors and guest actors of Babel, worked on a presentation in the same way that Babel normally works on a production. This working method is unique, because, at Babel, everyone on the floor plays a part, both players with and/or without disabilities and the caretakers. In conversations, the caretakers told us that they do not take part in acting at their company and therefore had little or no experience on the floor.
Despite the new way of working, the people of the partner companies put all their efforts in it. Both the visiting actors and caretakers took a lot of enthusiasm and an eagerness to learn to the intensive workshops. During the shared lunch and dinners we took the time to get to know each other better, to discuss what we learned from each other that day and what we can learn from each other in the future. Satisfied and with a smile, we look back on three very valuable days, but we also look forward to new European cooperation projects, where we can learn even more from each other.
